Description:
Spanning the Firehole River near Morning Glory Pool at Grand Loop Road, in Lake Teton County, WY is the Firehole River Bridge. The bridge's design reflects the philosophy of the National Park Service who used indigenous materials to harmonize manufactured features with their natural surroundings. The river was named Firehole because the steam on it appears to make it look like it is smoking or on fire because of the hot water from the geyser and the cold river water intermingling. Either on the bridge or the opposite side of the riverbank is a great picture-taking opportunity, but if you arrive too early in the morning, you'll see nothing but a haze due to the up to 70+ deg C hot spring water.
