Fountain Paint Pot Trail

Hydrothermal activity is evidence of Yellowstone's active volcano (along with hundreds of resulting earthquakes per year). This fascinating geological area comprises all four types of thermal features - geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles. To get there park at Fountain Paint Pot Trail Parking Lot off of Hwy 191 and walk half a mile on a convenient boardwalk to observe these amazing natural sites!
