Description:

The Grand Geyser is a fountain geyser located in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. Dr. F.V. Hayden named the geyser in 1871. The Grand Geyser erupts every 4-8 hours with a fountain reaching heights of as much as 200 feet (61 m). The geyser's eruption lasts 9 to 12 minutes, much like the other geysers in the group, especially the adjacent Vent Geyser and Turban Geyser. To reach the Grand Geyser you can either walk from the Yellowstone lodge in about 18 minutes or from the snow lodge in near 10 minutes. The paved trail and boardwalk are accessible to wheelchairs. The Grand Geyser is genuinely a great force of nature at its best!
