Description:

Minerva, the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Athena, was the patron deity of artists. Foamy, cloudy deposits of travertine were formed in the 1990s, underscoring how quickly the landscape in Mammoth Hot Springs changes. The trail from the Lower to Upper terraces includes steep boardwalks and several hundred stairs. This strenuous trail is most suited to people accustomed to high levels of physical activity. Consider a relaxing drive to the Upper Terrace Drive for an alternate view of the area.
