Description:

Pine trees dominate Scaup Lake whose shores are one of the water features in Yellowstone National Park. The lake is east of Spring Creek and has an elevation of 7,913 feet. This greenish Scaup Lake is on the Road to Old Faithful in Teton County, Wyoming. The lake's elevation is 2412 meters above sea level. The Grand Loop Road in Yellowstone skirts the shore of Scaup Lake, but you can also hike there by taking the Spring Creek Trail. Although the Spring Creek Trails use is primarily a winter ski trail, it makes a pleasant summer hike along a lovely small creek on a path once used as an old stagecoach road.
